Four Mobile Payment Services Introduced Nationwide
Enhanced Payment Convenience for Global Tourists

Ediya Coffee announced on October 23 that it will introduce four types of overseas mobile payment services-WeChat Pay, Alipay Plus, UnionPay, and Line Pay-at all of its stores nationwide to enhance payment convenience for global tourists.

The overseas mobile payment services will be rolled out sequentially starting today. Foreign tourists can easily make payments at Ediya Coffee stores using the mobile payment apps they use in their home countries. The supported payment methods include WeChat Pay, Alipay, and UnionPay from mainland China; Alipay Plus, a major integrated payment gateway in various countries; and Line Pay from Taiwan, among other leading Asian mobile payment options.

Ediya Coffee is expanding its adoption of various global payment systems in response to the increasing number of foreign tourists visiting Korea. Notably, in April last year, the company became the first in the franchise industry to introduce Taiwan’s payment service, Taiwan Pay (TWQR). With this latest expansion, Ediya Coffee has begun to establish a customized payment infrastructure for international customers.

An Ediya Coffee representative stated, “The introduction of these overseas mobile payment services is expected to boost not only convenience for foreign tourists but also sales for our franchisees. We will continue to introduce a variety of payment methods to improve customer convenience and strengthen our competitiveness as a global brand.”
