Thursday, October 23, is expected to be relatively mild as the cold eases.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the morning low temperatures nationwide are forecast to range from 9 to 16 degrees Celsius, while the afternoon highs are expected to reach between 15 and 23 degrees Celsius.
As of 5 a.m. on this day, the temperatures in major cities are as follows: Seoul 11.8°C, Incheon 11.6°C, Suwon 10.4°C, Chuncheon 10.9°C, Gangneung 12.5°C, Cheongju 12.0°C, Daejeon 11.0°C, Jeonju 11.5°C, Gwangju 13.3°C, Jeju 20.1°C, Daegu 12.4°C, Busan 15.5°C, Ulsan 13.9°C, and Changwon 14.6°C.
Occasional rain is expected in Yeongdong, Gangwon Province, the eastern coast of North Gyeongsang Province, Busan, Ulsan, and Jeju Island. The expected rainfall from October 23 over the next two days is as follows: Yeongdong, Gangwon Province 20-80mm (with more than 100mm possible in northern Yeongdong), Ulleungdo and Dokdo 10-40mm, the eastern coast of North Gyeongsang Province 5-20mm, Busan and Ulsan around 5mm, and Jeju Island less than 5mm. Due to the recent frequent rains, the ground in the East Coast region has weakened, which could lead to landslides or soil runoff. Extra caution is advised for facility management and safety accidents.
Wave heights are expected to be 1.0-3.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5-1.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5-3.0 meters in the South Sea. In the offshore areas (within about 200km from the coastline), wave heights are forecast to be 1.0-3.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5-3.5 meters in the West Sea, and 1.5-3.5 meters in the South Sea.
