On the afternoon of the 22nd, while attending the 18th Semiconductor Day event at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Kwak was asked by reporters about SK Hynix's preparations for mass production of HBM4. He replied, "The process is progressing smoothly," and reiterated his confidence.

SK Hynix was the first in the world to develop HBM4 and has provided samples to clients such as Nvidia, currently awaiting their feedback. Having demonstrated a strong presence in the HBM market, the company is confident in its ability to supply HBM4 in large volumes as well. Market conditions are also favorable for SK Hynix. Many analysts believe that the memory market-including HBM, DRAM, and NAND flash-is entering a 'super cycle' of prosperity. As a result, there are considerable expectations that SK Hynix will deliver strong financial results.

Regarding this outlook, Kwak commented, "I believe next year will not be bad." He added, "What will be important going forward is how well we can meet the performance, characteristics, and mass production requirements our customers want. Especially as the artificial intelligence (AI) industry continues to grow in importance and scale, the significance of memory is also increasing. Therefore, it is crucial for us to work more closely with our customers and become genuine partners."

When asked about the company's soaring market capitalization, Kwak said, "Of course, market capitalization is important, but our primary business goal is to strengthen our relationships with customers and contribute more meaningfully. If we do that, I believe our corporate value will rise accordingly." As of the market close on this day, SK Hynix's market capitalization exceeded 350 trillion won, far surpassing the "200 trillion won within three years" target that Kwak set at the beginning of last year.

Kwak was awarded the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit at the 18th Semiconductor Day awards ceremony, in recognition of his contributions to the development of Korea's semiconductor industry this year as the company's leader and through advancements in HBM. He remarked, "This achievement was possible thanks to the significant support from the group, including Chairman Chey Tae-won of SK Group."
