Visit to Uiseong County to Benchmark Youth Employment Policies, Including Youth Shared Housing
On October 22, the Gumi City Council's research group, the Gumi City Youth Employment Policy Research Association (led by Assemblywoman Jung Jiweon), visited youth-related facilities in Uiseong County, such as the youth shared housing, to review their operations and explore directions for Gumi City's youth employment policies.
This comparative field study was organized after a heated discussion among the association's members (Kim Nakgwan, Yang Jino, Kim Chunnam, Jang Segu, Shin Yongha, So Jinhyuk, and Kim Wonseop) during the interim report meeting on September 17, where they exchanged opinions on customized youth employment policies for Gumi City and decided to visit Uiseong County to learn from its best practices.

In particular, the group examined whether Uiseong County's model actually implements an integrated platform that organically connects the three youth employment models-entrepreneurship-based, employment-based, and settlement-based-proposed for their research topic, "A Study on Expanding Youth Employment through Local Resources." They also gathered a variety of on-site opinions, including youth satisfaction, and discussed potential policy measures.
The research group members visited the youth shared housing, Angye Happiness Platform, and Angye Art Museum. They remarked, "We were surprised to see so many youth policy facilities concentrated in one area in Uiseong County, and the fact that there is even a waiting list for the youth shared housing demonstrates its effectiveness."
Jung Jiweon, the head of the association, evaluated, "This case in Uiseong County has become an important reference for establishing appropriate policies for Gumi City," and emphasized, "We will focus all our efforts on preparing good policies for the citizens."
Meanwhile, the association plans to hold its final report meeting at the end of October, where it will draw final conclusions by reflecting on the opinions gathered during the interim report and comparative field study.
