"SeMA Collection: Home, Sweet Home"
At Eunpyeong Arts Center Exhibition Hall until November 15
The Seoul Museum of Art announced on October 22 that, in collaboration with the Eunpyeong Cultural Foundation, it will host "SeMA Collection: Home, Sweet Home" at the Eunpyeong Arts Center Exhibition Hall until November 15.
The Seoul Museum of Art operates art communication projects based on its collection, such as "District Cooperation Exhibitions" and the "SeMA Collection Lounge," to strengthen engagement with citizens from various regions and contribute to the revitalization of Seoul's art culture.
In particular, since 2013, the "Seoul Museum of Art District Cooperation Exhibition" has provided opportunities for citizens to enjoy art in their daily lives by displaying works from the museum's collection in venues within each district.
"SeMA Collection: Home, Sweet Home" features 12 works across various genres-including painting, photography, and new media-from the museum’s collection, shedding light on the multifaceted meanings of "home" from an artistic perspective. The exhibition is curated by the Eunpyeong Cultural Foundation.
Participating artists include Honggu Kang, Moon Hakjin, Sanghee, Lee Sangkuk, and Leeje. Through traces left behind, vanished memories, and projected hopes within the space of "home," the exhibition highlights how a house is not merely a residence but a complex space encompassing the multiple layers of life.
Choi Eunju, Director of the Seoul Museum of Art, stated, "This exhibition is a meaningful opportunity to share the museum's collection more closely with local residents. I hope it will be a time to reflect on and share the various dimensions of 'home,' imbued with the lives and times of people."
