This program will be held at the Nowon Senior Counseling Center, the first directly operated institution by a district office, and will target 10 seniors aged 65 and over, running for a total of four sessions. The goal is to help participants understand themselves through the MBTI personality type test and to foster relationships based on mutual respect.

Each session is organized under the themes: ▲A Journey to Find Myself ▲A Bridge Connecting You, Me, and Us ▲A Mirror Reflecting My Life ▲My Story, A New Beginning. Seniors will share photos capturing moments from their lives and exchange personal stories, while also taking time to understand different personality types. In addition, they will draw a timeline of their lives to reflect on the past and design a lifestyle that suits them in their later years.

Applications for participation are accepted by phone (02-2116-2198) until October 23, and an MBTI test will be conducted with a professional counselor before the program begins.

The Nowon Senior Counseling Center is a senior-focused counseling hub directly operated by the district. Since its opening in July 2023, it has provided a variety of free programs, including individual counseling, outreach counseling, and group counseling. The main counseling topics focus on emotional support throughout the life cycle, such as bereavement of a spouse or family member, sense of loss after retirement, family conflicts, and war trauma.

In addition, the district is operating the “Crisis Senior Safety Net One-Stop Integrated Support Network” in cooperation with the Nowon Police Station APO (Abuse Prevention Officer), the Nowon District Integrated Crisis Family Support Center (Sonamu Center), and local welfare organizations, continuing efforts to identify seniors in crisis and provide tailored support.

Oh Seungrok, Mayor of Nowon District, stated, “I hope that the MBTI group counseling will provide seniors with an opportunity to reflect on themselves and broaden intergenerational understanding,” adding, “We will continue to expand various counseling services to support the emotional stability of seniors.”
