"All Necessary Measures Will Be Taken Given the Seriousness of the Matter"
Actor Lee Ikyung has announced plans to take legal action against rumors about his private life that are spreading online.
Recently, Lee Ikyung's agency, Sangyoung ENT, stated on its official Instagram account, "We are preparing legal action regarding the issues being posted and circulated primarily on online communities and social networking services (SNS), due to the spread of false information and malicious rumors that have caused harm."
The agency added, "Given the seriousness of this matter, we will assess the scale of direct and indirect damages caused by the dissemination of false information and take all necessary measures. Not only the authors of false posts, but also those who indiscriminately post or spread them, will be subject to legal action. We urge everyone to be cautious to prevent unnecessary harm."
The previous day, a post exposing Lee Ikyung was uploaded to an online community. The author, identified as A, revealed private conversations exchanged via SNS with a man saved as 'Ikyung Actor' and claimed that this man was Lee Ikyung.
Meanwhile, Lee Ikyung made his debut in the 2012 film "White Night" and has appeared in numerous works, including the dramas "Descendants of the Sun," "Go Back Couple," "Welcome to Waikiki," "Partners for Justice," and "Marry My Husband." He is also active in various variety shows, such as MBC's "Hangout with Yoo" and SBS Plus·ENA's "I Am Solo." Notably, "I Am Solo" has stated that it will proceed with broadcasting without editing, despite ongoing controversies.
