Gwangju City Successfully Hosts "Sustainable Development Local Government Policy Forum IN Gwangju"

The "2025 Sustainable Development Local Government Policy Forum IN Gwangju," aimed at sharing sustainable development policies among local governments and presenting future city models, was successfully held on the 21st at the Gwangju Lifelong Learning Center in Gyeonggi Province.

This forum was co-hosted and organized by Gwangju City and the Council of Local Governments for Sustainable Development, with several partner organizations such as the ICLEI Korea Office participating, thereby expanding the scope of interregional cooperation for sustainable development.
The forum was divided into morning and afternoon sessions, focusing on the current status and challenges of sustainable development and sharing policy case studies.
During the morning session, under the theme "Local Government Sustainable Development Policy 2025 and the Five-Year Agenda," experts from various fields discussed the creation of a sustainable future by the nation, local governments, citizens, and the private sector together, sharing their responsibilities and practical directions for action.
In the afternoon talk concert, the chairperson of the Council of Local Governments for Sustainable Development, the head of the ICLEI Korea Office, and Professor Moon Taehun participated, each presenting their visions and implementation strategies for "Sustainable Local Governments, Sustainable Future," which drew significant interest from attendees.
In addition, programs such as the "Spectrum Dialogue," commemorative photo sessions, and a visit to the Forest Expo site were held during the event, providing invited guests with meaningful opportunities to directly experience Gwangju City's ecological best practices.
