Padu Commercializes High-Performance Power Management ICs for Data Centers... Product Supply Confirmed

Passed Tier 1 Customer Certification
Securing a Foothold as a System Semiconductor Company
Supplying PMICs for Storage and Memory

Padu, a company specializing in data center semiconductors, announced that its high-performance power management integrated circuit (PMIC) for data centers has passed the Tier 1 customer certification.

On October 21, Padu revealed that its high-performance PMIC for data centers has successfully passed the top-tier customer certification and entered mass production, securing multiple follow-up product supply agreements.

With this achievement, Padu has demonstrated both its technological capabilities and business potential. Following its stable growth in the global market for data center solid-state drive (SSD) controllers, the company has now secured an additional foothold to grow into a comprehensive system semiconductor company.

The PMIC for data centers is a semiconductor that appropriately converts, distributes, and controls the power required by various components inside server computers, such as graphics processing units (GPU), DRAM, and SSDs, to match each semiconductor. It plays a crucial role in providing stable and efficient power supply.

Since successfully developing SSD controllers for data centers in 2018, Padu has spent over five years obtaining certifications from numerous leading global memory manufacturers and hyperscalers, enabling large-scale mass production and supply. From 2022, the company selected PMICs as its next-generation growth engine and has continued focused research and development. After succeeding in development last year, Padu recently passed product certification from a global Tier 1 customer, confirming the start of full-scale mass production.

In the short term, Padu plans to complete the development of PMIC products for registered dual in-line memory modules (RDIMM) by the end of this year. Through this, the company aims to supply PMICs for both storage (SSD) and memory (RDIMM), which are core computing resources in data centers. Padu also plans to expand into PMIC products for GPUs and central processing units (CPUs).

Padu CEO Lee Jiho stated, "Our philosophy of low-power, high-efficiency design is the most fundamental differentiator we have as a fabless company, and it is meaningful that we have once again proven this philosophy through our PMIC. I believe that after ten years of effort, Padu has found its own formula for success."

He added, "Padu will continue to introduce innovative products in the global data center semiconductor market and grow into a leading fabless company in South Korea."
