Bright Energy Partners Practices ESG Through Tree Planting

Participating in the "Honey Forest Bee Forest Campaign" for Urban Ecological Restoration
Expanding Intergenerational Environmental Awareness through Family ESG Activities

Bright Energy Partners announced on October 21 that more than 100 employees and their families participated together in the "Honey Forest Bee Forest Campaign" at Noeul Park in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

This event was part of Bright Energy Partners' ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management initiatives, aimed at expanding urban carbon sinks and restoring bee ecosystems. Employees joined with their children, enabling multiple generations to learn and practice the value of environmental stewardship together. The "Honey Forest Bee Forest Campaign" is a project designed to restore bee habitats by planting nectar-producing trees, which have declined due to climate change, and to enhance fine dust reduction and carbon sequestration functions.

Participants planted around 200 nectar-producing trees, while children took part in the "Seed Bank" experience, sowing seeds and engaging in drawing activities. After the event, an awards ceremony was held for the children's artwork, sharing the meaning of the environment under the theme "The Tree I Planted, The Forest We Created."

Kim Heesung, Chairman of Bright Energy Partners, stated, "A 1MW solar power plant by Bright Energy Partners is equivalent to planting about 3,000 pine trees solely in terms of greenhouse gas reduction. Our work, which connects solar power and electric vehicles, is ultimately 'energy tree planting,' and through this, we aim to realize a sustainable future."

Bright Energy Partners has established a solar portfolio comprising over 540 power plants nationwide, with a total generation capacity of 685MW and is developing and operating a 580MWh-class Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Through these efforts, the company reduces approximately 400,000 tons of greenhouse gases annually, achieving a carbon absorption effect equivalent to 12 million 30-year-old pine trees. In addition, the "Water" fast-charging network for electric vehicles, with 162 charging stations across the country, is replacing internal combustion engine vehicle mileage with hundreds of thousands of charging sessions, thereby contributing to carbon reduction.
