To Be Held Along a 900m Stretch of Sinwol-ro on October 26
Featuring Park Gun, Jang Yoonjeong, Bada, Jung Dongha, Park Kiyeong, and More
The "2nd Yangcheon Family Street Festival," a signature event of Yangcheon District in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Kijae), will be held on October 26 along the Sinwol-ro area (from Sinjeongnegeori Station to Sinjeong 1-dong Post Office).
After attracting more than 62,000 visitors and receiving an enthusiastic response at its inaugural event last year, this year's festival is returning "safer, more enjoyable, and richer" by expanding the event section from 600 meters to 900 meters and diversifying its programs.
The festival will kick off with a street parade featuring a Brazilian samba percussion team and residents from 18 neighborhoods. The venue will be organized into 10 themed zones: Meeting Square, Kids Play Zone, Book Festival, Fringe Stage, Youth Road, Memory Road, Family Love Road, Affiliated Organizations Zone, Food Zone, and the Main Stage.
"Meeting Square" will provide a rest area with artificial turf and beanbags, while the "Kids Play Zone" will feature a pop-up playground in collaboration with Seoul-style kids cafes. At the "Book Festival," literary experiences such as a book talk with authors Hwang Sunwoo and Kim Honbi, as well as "Book BTI," will be offered.
At the "Fringe Stage," local artists will perform busking and circus acts. "Youth Road," "Memory Road," and "Family Love Road" will offer generational experience programs, including a silent disco, retro playground, and family caricatures.
In the "Food Zone," local restaurants selected through a public contest will showcase nostalgic dishes. The space available for eating has been doubled compared to last year.
The main stage will feature highlight performances spanning traditional arts, trot, and popular music. There will be a traditional arts festival by masters Oh Junghae and Lee Kwangsoo, a broadcast recording of "Taegun Singing Contest" hosted by Park Gun and Na Taejoo, and the "Hello Festival" featuring singers Jang Yoonjeong, Bada, Jung Dongha, Park Kiyeong, and La Poem.

During the event, from 10 p.m. on October 25 to 4 a.m. on October 27, a 900-meter, six-lane stretch between Sinjeongnegeori and Sinjeong 1-dong Post Office will be completely closed to traffic. The district has completed temporary rerouting of city buses and will deploy traffic control and guidance personnel at 12 key locations to minimize inconvenience for residents.
Lee Kijae, Mayor of Yangcheon District, stated, "Last year, we successfully held the first festival thanks to the enthusiastic support of our residents. This year, we have done our utmost to create an even more enjoyable and abundant festival. I hope many residents will enjoy the festival and that it becomes a place of harmony where all generations can laugh and connect together."
