"2025 Gyeonggi Province Excellent Market Expo" to Be Held
On October 24 and 25, traditional markets from 31 cities and counties across Gyeonggi Province will gather at Turtle Island in Siheung City.
Gyeonggi Province and Siheung City will jointly host the "11th Gyeonggi Province Excellent Market Expo" at Bonita Square on Turtle Island over two days, October 24 and 25.
This expo, co-hosted by Gyeonggi Province and Siheung City and organized by the Gyeonggi Province Merchants Association and the Siheung City Merchants Association, is the largest traditional market festival in the province. Traditional markets from all 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province will participate, showcasing outstanding and specialty products that reflect their regional characteristics.
The expo will feature more than 120 booths, including exhibitions and sales of outstanding products, as well as food zones, experience zones, and a flea market.
On the first day, October 24, the event will begin with a performance by a merchants' club from Gyeonggi Province, followed by a preliminary singing contest for merchants and residents, an awards ceremony for contributors to traditional market revitalization, and an opening ceremony. There will also be celebratory performances by invited singers, a musical performance, and busking stages.
On the second day, October 25, there will be saxophone performances, shows by local artists, the final round of the singing contest, a random play dance with audience participation, another celebratory performance by an invited singer, a prize drawing, and an awards ceremony.
During the expo, the city will deploy around 60 people, including members of the voluntary security patrol, volunteers, and traffic staff, and will have medical personnel and an ambulance on standby at all times to ensure a safe event. A comprehensive support system will also be in place to provide road control, parking guidance, and environmental maintenance for the convenience of citizens.
A city official stated, "This expo is a regional economic festival where traditional market merchants and citizens come together, and it will serve as a venue for exchanges among traditional markets in the province. We will do our utmost to establish Siheung City as a central hub for commercial revitalization."
