The expo will open with a pre-event ceremony at 1:30 p.m. on October 25, followed by the official opening ceremony at 2:00 p.m. Key figures, including heads of major domestic orchid organizations, orchid enthusiasts, and the Hwasun County Governor, are expected to attend and grace the occasion.

During the event, a rigorous judging process will select the grand prize, excellence award, gold, silver, and bronze winners from among the outstanding Korean Cymbidium orchids submitted from across the country, and an awards ceremony will be held.

The expo will feature participation from major organizations such as the Hwasun Orchid Association, the Korea Orchid Culture Association, and the Korea Orchid Conservation Association. More than 1,000 entries will be exhibited, offering a high standard of Cymbidium orchids and a diverse range of orchid varieties. During the event, an auction hosted by the Hwasun Orchid Association will also take place, providing visitors with the opportunity to purchase rare Cymbidium orchids directly.

To ensure the continued development of the orchid industry, the county operates the Hwasun Cymbidium Cultivation Training Center, the Hwasun Cymbidium Greenhouse, and the Hwasun Cymbidium Nursery. It also leases cultivation spaces to orchid farmers and runs a project to distribute high-quality seedlings.

In addition, the county is preparing to expand overseas exports of Cymbidium orchids cultivated in Hwasun. The 'Korea Orchid Industrial Complex Project,' which Hwasun County is promoting as part of the 'Jeonnam-Style Balanced Development 300 Project,' is being highlighted as a key initiative that will open the future of Korea's orchid industry.

Governor Koo Bokkyu stated, "This expo is not just an exhibition, but an important opportunity to promote the value of Korean Cymbidium orchids to the world and to drive the local industry forward," adding, "We will do our utmost to help Hwasun become the center of Korea's orchid industry."
