Proving the International Competitiveness of Hapcheon Hwangto Hanwoo
Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 21st that it held a shipment ceremony for the first export of Hapcheon Hwangto Hanwoo to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), marking a significant milestone as Hapcheon Hwangto Hanwoo expands beyond the domestic market and makes a full-fledged entry into the Middle Eastern market.
The shipment ceremony was attended by about 10 representatives from South Gyeongsang Province, Hapcheon County, the Hapcheon Livestock Cooperative, the Hanwoo Association, and Hanwoo farmers. This export marks a meaningful occasion, as Hapcheon Hwangto Hanwoo underwent the halal slaughtering process and met the strict standards of the UAE market, thereby proving its superior quality and safety. The event also celebrated hopes for successful exports to the Middle East.
Hapcheon Hwangto Hanwoo is raised with a systematic feeding management program and special feed containing enzyme- and mineral-rich hwangto (yellow soil). This results in beef with a high zinc (Zn) content in the intramuscular fat, giving it a tender texture and exceptional flavor. In addition, it boasts higher juiciness and water retention compared to regular Hanwoo, further solidifying its reputation as a premium Hanwoo brand.
Through this export to the United Arab Emirates, Hapcheon County expects to demonstrate the international competitiveness of its flagship brand, 'Hapcheon Hwangto Hanwoo,' and to contribute significantly to increasing local farmers' income by pioneering overseas markets.
An official from Hapcheon County stated, "This export is an important opportunity to enhance the global competitiveness of Hapcheon Hwangto Hanwoo," adding, "We will continue to do our best to expand into overseas markets by improving quality and ensuring safe production."
