It has been revealed that the Vietnamese Vice Minister of National Defense sexually harassed a South Korean Ministry of National Defense official during his visit to South Korea last month.
According to the military on October 21, Hoang Xuan Chien, the Vietnamese Vice Minister of National Defense, made inappropriate physical contact with a female South Korean official during a dinner held on September 11 for senior military personnel from both countries, which was organized on the occasion of the Seoul Defense Dialogue (SDD).
The Ministry of National Defense regarded the incident as extremely serious and summoned the Vietnamese military attach? in South Korea eight days after the event to lodge a formal protest. The Ministry condemned the Vice Minister's actions to the Vietnamese side, and it has been reported that the Vietnamese side expressed its intention to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
