According to the National Police Agency, South Korean police and Cambodian investigators performed the autopsy on the body of Park, a 22-year-old South Korean university student, inside Teuk Thla Temple in Sensok, central Phnom Penh, from 10:35 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the same day.

The South Korean side was represented by a total of six people: the head of the Scientific Investigation Operations Division at the National Police Agency, an investigator from the North Gyeongsang Provincial Police Agency, three forensic pathologists from the National Forensic Service, and one prosecutor from the International Criminal Affairs Division of the Ministry of Justice. The Cambodian side included six participants, consisting of local police and doctors.

Previously, Park was found murdered in a car near Bokor Mountain in Kampot Province on August 8, three weeks after telling his family on July 17 that he was going to attend an expo. Investigations revealed that Park had been detained and tortured to death in a local crime compound known as "Wench." A police official clarified, however, that "there was no damage to Park's body during the autopsy."

The police plan to determine the exact cause of death after comprehensively analyzing the results of histological and toxicological tests to be conducted in South Korea, along with the findings from ongoing investigations by authorities in both countries.

After the autopsy, Park's remains are scheduled to be repatriated to South Korea following consultations with the Cambodian authorities.
