Man in His 20s Who Lost Contact in Cambodia Confirmed Safe at Embassy

Man in His 20s Who Lost Contact in Cambodia Confirmed Safe at Embassy Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju.

A man in his 20s who had been reported missing after leaving for Cambodia and losing contact with his family has been confirmed safe after visiting the local embassy.

According to Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju on October 19, Mr. A, who had been reported missing in connection with Cambodia, visited the embassy on October 17 and contacted his family. Upon hearing that he had reached out to his family, the police contacted the embassy directly and confirmed that Mr. A was indeed staying there.

Mr. A plans to return to Korea as soon as a flight is arranged. His family had reported him missing in August after being unable to reach him.

The police confirmed that Mr. A had initially departed for Thailand, but his family suspected that he had crossed into Cambodia based on his mobile phone's online activity records.

The family became concerned about possible criminal involvement after receiving a call from an unknown number in which someone said, "Please save me," before the call was abruptly disconnected.

The police plan to investigate the circumstances of Mr. A's disappearance and determine whether he was a victim of any crime once he returns to Korea.
