Kim Dong-yeon Engages with 7,000 Residents at Residents' Day Commemoration on the 18th

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon spent time engaging with approximately 7,000 residents in celebration of the 8th Gyeonggi Province Residents' Day on October 18.

On the 18th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it had held the "8th Residents' Day Commemoration, Together Green Festival" at Gyeonggi Dodamteul in Suwon, under the theme "Drawing a Sustainable Gyeonggi Together with Residents."

During the first part of the event, "G-Runway," Governor Kim took to the stage for a fashion show walk with two child models, wearing a special outfit. The jacket worn by Governor Kim was upcycled from a firefighter's fireproof suit, carrying a climate action message: "Save Life, Save Earth."

Governor Kim explained, "The clothes worn by the models on today's runway were made by upcycling fabric scraps and discarded garments. The two children and I are wearing outfits made from firefighters' old fireproof suits that could no longer be used."

He continued, "Gyeonggi Province is always at the forefront of responding to the climate crisis, and I am a climate governor. I urge all of you to actively join us in tackling the climate crisis together."

As a side event, the Gyeonggi Living Market offered visitors the opportunity to experience and purchase products and services from small business owners. Various programs were available, including food trucks, a flea market, a wood playground, a stamp rally, a bubble show, and performances by Gyeonggi artists.
