11 Years of History Built by Residents
Established as Gumi’s Signature Autumn Festival
Boat Riding, Traditional Games, and the "Finding Bisan Star" Contest
On October 18, Bisan-dong in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, successfully held the 11th Bisan Naruteo Cultural Festival at Bisan Naruteo Sports Park, with around 2,000 citizens participating under the organization of the Bisan-dong Sports Association.
Now in its 11th year, this festival has become Gumi's representative autumn event, blending traces of life from the old ferry site with the present-day community. Since its first edition in 2010, it has established itself as a "participatory local festival" planned and created directly by residents.

The festival was prepared and carried out with active cooperation from local organizations and groups, centered around the Bisan-dong Sports Association.
Residents participated in every aspect of the event, including operations, safety management, and running experience booths, demonstrating the solidarity of the local community.
This year's festival featured a variety of programs, including the "Finding Bisan Star" contest, boat riding experiences, traditional games and a flea market, as well as local food booths.
The boat riding experience, which took advantage of the Nakdong River's geographical features, was especially popular with families. Performances such as taekwondo dance, jump rope, and dance acts further elevated the festive atmosphere.
Kim Jangho, mayor of Gumi, said, "The Bisan Naruteo Cultural Festival is very meaningful as it leaves joyful and memorable experiences for all residents. Thanks to the participation and cooperation of many citizens, the festival was able to be held safely and successfully."
