KOTRA Talent Recruitment Delegation Attracts High-Tech Talent in Singapore

Major Corporations Join the Initiative, Including Samsung Electronics and LG Energy Solution

Korean companies have begun efforts to secure global high-tech talent in Singapore.

KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) announced on the 19th that it dispatched a delegation of 16 domestic innovative companies to Singapore, where they held the 'Global Industry Career Connect 2025' event at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) over two days starting from the 16th.

This event marks the first overseas talent recruitment delegation since the opening of KOTRA's Overseas Talent Attraction Center. It was organized to meet the demand for high-tech industry professionals and to attract outstanding international talent to Korea.

Singapore is regarded as Asia's leading hub for high-tech talent. For example, the Singaporean government is pursuing the 'National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy 2.0,' aiming to train 15,000 AI specialists by 2030. As part of this initiative, prestigious universities such as Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) are collaborating with global companies to operate AI research centers and attract master's and doctoral-level AI talent from across Asia.

The delegation included 16 companies, ranging from major corporations such as Samsung Electronics Device Solutions, LG Energy Solution, and Hanwha Ocean, to AI innovation startups like FuriosaAI and Nearbrain. KOTRA supported these participating companies by facilitating one-on-one interviews and recruitment consultations with 573 Singaporean job seekers holding undergraduate and graduate degrees. Recruitment strategy briefings, an introduction to the K-Tech Pass system, and mentoring sessions with employees of Korean companies also drew significant interest.

The K-Tech Pass is a system that provides top-tier (F-2) visas and settlement support services to overseas talent in advanced industries such as semiconductors, displays, secondary batteries, bio, robotics, and AI. It has been implemented since April of this year.

Kang Sangyeop, Vice President of KOTRA and Head of the Small and Medium Enterprise Division, stated, "I hope this delegation will help domestic companies secure the talent essential for growth in advanced industries," adding, "We will actively utilize KOTRA's overseas network to help our companies obtain the talent information they need in a timely manner."
