Sejong Fire Department Strengthens Response System to Minimize Casualties
Practical Rescue Drill Conducted at Multi-Family Housing Construction Site
The Sejong Fire Department (Chief Park Taewon) announced on the 19th that it conducted a practical rescue drill simulating a tower crane accident at a multi-family housing construction site in Hapgang-dong on the 17th.
This training was designed to enhance precise equipment operation and team-based collaboration in high-altitude and confined spaces, ensuring the golden time for rescue and reinforcing a practical response system to minimize casualties.
The drill was conducted at an actual construction site and included the following steps: scenario assignment, information gathering using fire department drones, inclined descent rope rescue, transport of rescued individuals, and follow-up measures. Every stage was carried out in the same manner as a real disaster situation.
Chief Park Taewon stated, "We will continue to strengthen our specialized rescue capabilities through regular and systematic training to protect the lives and safety of our citizens. We also plan to expand practical training that can be immediately applied not only to tower crane accidents but also to complex disaster sites such as underground spaces and tunnels."
