WCD Korea Branch Holds 9th Anniversary Forum
"Female Leadership Is a Core Strategic Element for Corporations"
The Korea branch of the World Women Directors Association (WCD) held its 9th anniversary forum on October 16 at the Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul, under the theme "The Value of Female Human Resources and Sustainable Corporate Management."

Jung Dami, President of the World Women Directors Association, explained the purpose of the forum, stating, "Opportunities to strengthen the capabilities and leadership of women for sustainable management in companies must be further expanded."
The event was attended by over 120 participants, including Sue Lloyd, Vice Chair of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), who delivered the keynote speech; Choi Woonyeol, President of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants, who gave a congratulatory address; and Lee Eog-weon, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, who delivered his remarks via video. Members of the World Women Directors Association, as well as executives from the corporate and financial sectors, were also present.
Sue Lloyd, the keynote speaker, addressed the topic of "Deepening Female Leadership and Its Connection to Sustainability."
She emphasized, "Corporate disclosures can demonstrate how female leadership contributes to corporate performance, and female leadership is not just about representation but is a core strategic element that enhances sustainability, innovation, and trust."

The subsequent panel discussion featured Lee Inhyeong, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Capital Market Institute; Lee Woonghee, Vice Chair of KSSB; Baek Seungyup, Governance Support Officer of SK SUPEX Council; Ahn Soohyun, Dean of the Graduate School of Law at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies; and Kim Yura, CEO of Ttam Co., Ltd.
The panelists shared insights, visions, and related experiences regarding the importance of diversity and inclusion.
Meanwhile, the World Women Directors Association is a global non-profit organization composed of female registered directors. The Korea branch was established in September 2016 and consists of approximately 180 members, including registered directors and CEOs of domestic listed companies, public enterprises, and unlisted companies subject to external audit with annual sales of over 30 billion won.
