The treasure hunt is set in Cheorwon History and Culture Park, which recreates the economically prosperous Cheorwon cityscape of the 1930s, and features two main themes: the Cheorwon Independence Group, centered on the independence movement, and the Crane’s Treasure Hunt, based on the history of Cheorwon.
The 'Cheorwon Independence Group' is inspired by the real anti-Japanese independence organization that was active in the Cheorwon area. This content is designed to allow participants to explore various locations and spaces within Cheorwon History and Culture Park. The concept of delivering independence funds from Cheorwon to agents of the Provisional Government gives participants the experience of becoming independence activists during the Japanese colonial period.
Meanwhile, the 'Crane’s Treasure Hunt' is a treasure hunt content where the crane, a symbol of Cheorwon, hides treasures throughout Cheorwon History and Culture Park, and participants search for them. The treasure hunt is designed to be easily enjoyed by people of all ages, and is especially popular among families thanks to the appearance of beloved characters such as Pororo and his friends.
The Crane’s Treasure Hunt is a free activity, while the Cheorwon Independence Group is a paid content. However, participants receive a Cheorwon Love Gift Certificate equivalent to the participation fee, and upon completion, random rewards such as a sun and rain umbrella or a glow bracelet are given. For the Crane’s Treasure Hunt, participants are provided with actual local agricultural products as rewards, which helps both to promote Cheorwon’s specialty products and to revitalize the local economy, creating a win-win situation.
This event will run until October 26, 2025. During this period, the "2025 National Heritage Media Art Cheorwon Labor Party Headquarters" event will also be held at the Labor Party Headquarters and Cheorwon History and Culture Park. Visitors can enjoy content based on Cheorwon’s history and culture during the day, and in the evening, they can immerse themselves in spectacular media art, experiencing the contrasting charms of Cheorwon by day and night.
A Cheorwon County official stated, "We plan to continuously introduce new content that combines local culture and storytelling," adding, "By attracting more overnight visitors, we aim to usher in an era of ten million annual tourists."
