[Market Focus] KNR System Surges on World’s First Development and Patent Filing of Robot EHA

KNR System is showing strong performance. This appears to be influenced by the news that the company has become the first in the world to develop a hybrid linear actuator (EHA) for robots and has completed its patent application.

As of 1:44 p.m. on October 15, KNR System was trading at 23,550 won, up 28.97% from the previous day.

On this day, KNR System announced that it had developed and filed a patent for a robot-specific hybrid linear actuator (EHA) by combining the conventional EHA used in the hydraulic machinery industry into an inline structure.

KNR System explained that while robot-specific EHAs exist in domestic and international research, this is the first case in the world where an inline design has been successfully commercialized for actual use in robot arms and legs.

KNR System adopted a design in which all hydraulic components are positioned on the same axis as the cylinder. As a result, all parts are aligned in a straight line, enabling a slim design that allows installation even in space-constrained areas such as robot limbs.

With the application of this new technology, the actuator is expected to see increased utilization in fields requiring powerful linear actuators, such as underwater operations, disaster rescue, and heavy object handling.

The "linear" in the newly developed actuator refers to the straight-line type used in robot arms and legs that require linear motion. In contrast, the recently introduced hybrid rotary actuator for robots, with its "rotary" function, is designed for rotational movements needed in robot shoulders and waists.

Accordingly, KNR System has completed a lineup of hybrid actuators for robots that can control all movements, including not only arms and legs but also shoulders and waists.
