The beloved national snack "Kkumdori Konjac Jjondeuki" has been launched.

On October 15, Daejeon City signed a joint branding business agreement with Daejeon Tourism Organization and Easy Factory in the reception room on the 10th floor of City Hall for the launch of the traditional snack Jjondeuki.

This agreement is part of Daejeon's urban brand expansion strategy, which connects tourism, merchandise, and food. Through a "clean reboot" based on hygienic processes and safety standards (HACCP), it aims to elevate the image of nostalgic snacks.

Jjondeuki, which in the past was misunderstood due to hygiene issues with some products, is now being reevaluated as a snack produced under standardized hygiene management by officially certified food manufacturers with HACCP certification.

In particular, as the snack has been featured as a "favorite snack of popular celebrities" on variety shows and has continued to attract public attention, Daejeon City plans to reinterpret it with values of wellness, locality, and branding through collaboration with local companies.

Easy Factory, a food manufacturer located in Pyeongchon-dong, Daedeok-gu, Daejeon, is set to produce Kkumdori Jjondeuki using grains such as brown rice, glutinous barley, and corn.

Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, stated, "We will introduce a wellness traditional snack that everyone can safely enjoy, in partnership with local companies," adding, "Following ramen, Makgeolli, and walnut cookies, we will diversify our local F&B lineup to strengthen Daejeon's competitiveness."

"Kkumdori Konjac Jjondeuki" is scheduled to be sold first in November at public sales outlets and the company's own distribution channels within Daejeon, including Kkumdori and Daejeon Travel, Kkumdori House, and TJ Mart.
