Revitalizing Aging Tourist Sites in South Gyeongsang Province
New Attractions from the Entrance to Every Corner
Goseong County in South Gyeongsang Province has successfully improved facilities and expanded content at the Danghangpo Tourist Site, the main venue for the 2025 Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo, through an urban regeneration project for aging tourist destinations. The site is now welcoming visitors with a fresh new look.
In particular, dynamic dinosaur content has played a decisive role in shedding the outdated image of the tourist site and transforming it into a must-visit attraction that visitors want to return to.
At the entrance, a moving Brachiosaurus dinosaur installation immediately captures visitors’ attention, transforming the entire atmosphere into a place where dinosaurs await and raising expectations for the visit. The impressive roar and the movement of its long neck immerse visitors in a world of dinosaurs, dramatically improving the first impression of Danghangpo Tourist Site and serving as an effective promotional tool.
Furthermore, 13 animatronic dinosaurs have been installed along the tranquil, tree-lined walking paths within Danghangpo Tourist Site, turning what was once a simple trail into an immersive experience reminiscent of “Jurassic Park.” This new attraction has drawn many families, with visitors lining up to enjoy the unique experience.
Especially during the Dinosaur Expo period, social media posts from visitors to Danghangpo Tourist Site-on blogs, Instagram, and other platforms-are continuously proving the success of the regeneration project. Positive reviews such as “It feels even more realistic at night” and “There’s something special to see now” are becoming the norm.
County Governor Lee Sanggeun stated, “Through this Gyeongsangnam-do project to regenerate aging tourist sites, Danghangpo Tourist Site has been reborn as a unique and attractive space based on dinosaur content. We will continue to ensure proper management and discover new content so that Danghangpo Tourist Site can become a beloved destination, providing visitors with lasting memories and enjoyment.”
Meanwhile, the 2025 Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo at Danghangpo Tourist Site will continue until November 9, featuring daily parades, circus performances, various shows, extended evening hours on weekends, and spectacular fireworks displays every Saturday to welcome tourists.
