Festival for a Gathering with Small Business Owners
4th ONgolmok Festa to Follow
Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province will host the "Festival for a Gathering with Small Business Owners in Yangsan," organized by the Yangsan Small Business Association and sponsored by Yangsan City, at Yangju Neighborhood Park on October 18.
This festival is designed to expand sales channels and promote local small businesses, as well as to revitalize the local economy. The event will feature a variety of attractions and activities, including a culinary competition among small business chefs and hands-on programs for citizens.
The main program of the event, the "Culinary Competition of Small Business Chefs," will showcase dishes prepared by local small business chefs, each highlighting their unique flavors and personalities.
Both citizens and culinary experts will participate directly in tasting and evaluating the dishes to select the winning business. Through this, the event aims to widely promote the capabilities of local small business owners and offer citizens the opportunity to experience new local flavors.
In addition, the festival site will feature a range of events and experiential spaces where citizens can participate directly. There will be hands-on activities for families, multicultural experience booths introducing foreign traditions, performances by local artists, singing contests, and prize draws-creating a festival that everyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy.
Alongside this, Yangsan City will hold the "4th ONgolmok Festa - ONce Again Woongsang" from October 19 to November 2, spanning 15 days along Samho-ro in Seochang-dong, to encourage consumption in local alleyway businesses.
During the event, citizens who make purchases at participating stores using the Yangsan Sarang Card will receive an increased point accumulation rate of 15%, up from the standard 13%. Additionally, participating stores will provide a 5% in-store discount. This allows citizens to enjoy reasonable spending while merchants can expect to see increased sales.
On the first day of the festa, October 19 (Sunday), the ONgolmok Concert will be held at the outdoor parking lot of Woongsang Centum Plaza, featuring a variety of performances, events, and promotional booths to offer citizens an abundance of attractions and entertainment.
Through the Small Business Owners' Festival and the ONgolmok Festa, Yangsan City aims to create a venue for mutual prosperity where local small business owners and citizens can come together, strengthen the cohesion of the alleyway business community, and boost the local economy.
A Yangsan City official stated, "We hope that this meaningful event, where small business owners and citizens-the backbone of the local economy-gather to interact and rediscover the value of local businesses, will further solidify the sense of community and lead to tangible sales growth for small business owners, injecting new economic vitality into the region."
