The Chilgok-gun Agricultural Technology Center in North Gyeongsang Province received the Grand Prize in the institution and organization category at the 31st World Agricultural and Fisheries Technology Awards ceremony, which was held at the Seoul Press Center on September 30.

The Chilgok-gun Agricultural Technology Center has newly built and expanded rural guidance infrastructure such as the Youth Farmer Support Center, the Useful Microorganism Cultivation Laboratory, the Agricultural Machinery Training Center, a shared kitchen within the Agricultural Product Processing Support Center, and the implementation of public HACCP.
In particular, the center has actively responded to the changing agricultural environment by securing the maximum amount of national funding through various public projects, including the Agricultural Great Transformation Chamoe Field Special Zone Project, the Specialty Resource Convergence Technology Support Project, and the Pilot Project for the Technology Dissemination Blending Cooperation Model.
Additionally, the center has contributed to sustainable agricultural development and innovation through a variety of initiatives, such as branding and increasing farm income by establishing premium rice production complexes; using drones to control crop pests and diseases in response to climate change; operating agricultural machinery rental, transportation, and agency services; and forming an on-site agricultural technology support team to quickly resolve agricultural civil complaints and support scientific farming.
Director Ji Sunyoung stated, "Through this award, the Chilgok-gun Agricultural Technology Center will strive even harder to advance agricultural technology, take the lead in creating a sustainable agricultural ecosystem, and work to brighten the future of agriculture."
