Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital, the only tertiary general hospital in Sejong City, has recently recruited additional medical staff in nine departments, thereby establishing a stable medical care system through strengthened clinical capabilities.


According to the hospital on October 14, Professor Park Jaehyung of the Department of Cardiology, who was appointed as the fourth hospital director on September 1, will begin seeing patients on October 16 after completing his duties at Daejeon Chungnam National University Hospital.


Professor Park specializes in echocardiography, valvular heart disease, heart failure, pericardial disease, aortic disease, pulmonary arterial hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, and general cardiac diseases. He has achieved various accomplishments in both clinical practice and research, including receiving multiple outstanding paper awards from academic societies such as the Korean Society of Echocardiography, the Korean Society of Heart Failure, and the Korean Society of Cardiology.


Professor Baek Seungwoo of the Department of Hematology and Oncology specializes in anemia, hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, and thrombocytopenia. Professor Kim Kyungho has joined the Department of Critical Care Medicine and is now responsible for treating critically ill patients.


In the Department of Neurology, Professor Park Sangmin and Professor Kim Yuseok have been recruited. Professor Park specializes in Parkinson's disease, tremors, movement disorders, dementia, and dizziness, while Professor Kim's specialties include stroke, cerebral vascular stenosis, carotid artery stenosis, cerebral blood flow ultrasound, and headaches.


In the Department of Emergency Medicine, three additional professors-Jung Junyoung, Cho Seonguk, and Choi Hyunsoo-have joined, contributing to alleviating concerns about emergency medical care among local residents.


Professor Yoon Sangho of the Department of Dermatology specializes in psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, skin cancer, contact dermatitis, nodular prurigo, senile pruritus, urticaria, vitiligo, and acne. Professor Seol Gayoung of the Department of Dentistry specializes in dental implants, wisdom tooth extraction, oral and maxillofacial trauma, and oral cysts and tumors.


In the Department of Pediatrics, Professor Hwang Eunha and Professor Nam Sangjeong, both specializing in pediatric emergency medicine, have been recruited and are providing care at the pediatric emergency medical center. In the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Clinical Fellow Kim Donghwan specializes in lumbar disc herniation, cervical disc herniation, spinal stenosis, spinal deformity, and spinal pain.


By recruiting additional medical staff in each specialized field, the hospital not only aims to strengthen its clinical capabilities but also plans to actively expand essential and public healthcare resources to address regional disparities in medical services.
