Deputy Governor Leads Meeting on Governor Seo Taewon's Directive
Reviewing Cooperation System with Related Agencies
On the morning of the 13th at 8:30 a.m., Gapyeong County held an "Emergency Situation Assessment Meeting for the Cheongpyeong-myeon Fire Accident Response Measures" in the disaster control room to discuss response measures for the fire that occurred in Cheongpyeong-myeon on the night of the 11th.

The fire broke out at around 11:19 p.m. on the 11th in a raw fish restaurant building located in Cheongpyeong-ri, Cheongpyeong-myeon. Although firefighters were immediately dispatched and worked to extinguish the blaze, four people lost their lives inside the building. The fire was completely extinguished at approximately 2:45 a.m. on the 12th.
In response, Gapyeong County has begun an urgent response to both investigate the cause of the accident and provide support for recovery. The meeting was convened under the emergency directive of County Governor Seo Taewon and was attended by Deputy Governor Kim Miseong, as well as relevant department heads and key officials.
During the meeting, Gapyeong County decided to assign department-specific roles to ensure a swift response, including: providing emergency support to bereaved families and affected residents; establishing a psychological and medical support system; conducting safety inspections of the burned building and handling debris removal; and supporting the investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
Deputy Governor Kim Miseong stated, "As this fire has resulted in tragic loss of life, every department must do its utmost to respond quickly and minimize the damage," and urged, "Please strengthen cooperation with related agencies to ensure that recovery and support proceed smoothly and without delay."
Going forward, Gapyeong County plans to continue supporting victims and restoring the site, working in close cooperation with related organizations such as the fire department, police, and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, with the Accident Recovery Support Team at the center of these efforts.
