KOTRA Opens Korea Pavilion at Dubai GITEX with Participation of 100 Korean Companies

Spotlighting Advanced Technologies such as AI and Smart Cities
Middle Eastern AI Technologies in the Spotlight, Exhibition Reaches Record Scale
Support Through B2B Meetings with Local Companies

KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) opened a unified Korea Pavilion at 'GITEX Global 2025,' the world’s largest information and communications technology exhibition, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October 13 to 17.

To support the globalization of Korea’s corporate AI ecosystem, KOTRA signed an AI and digital cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in September with the Dubai Future Foundation, which operates directly under the Crown Prince of Dubai. By participating in the Korea Pavilion at this GITEX exhibition, KOTRA continues to provide company-level support. In November, KOTRA will also dispatch AI and energy delegations to the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

GITEX, held in the Middle East, is one of the world’s largest information and communications technology exhibitions, highlighting advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), smart cities, the digital economy, cybersecurity and cloud, and blockchain. More than 6,500 companies from over 180 countries participated. This year, KOTRA explained that the exhibition reached its largest scale ever, as Middle Eastern countries are gaining attention as global hubs for digital technologies like AI, backed by immense wealth and investment.

The UAE announced its 'AI Strategy 2031' as part of its national digital transformation policy and is pursuing projects in smart cities, autonomous driving, and renewable energy. GITEX serves as a platform for implementing the UAE’s digital strategy, and since many companies from the Middle East, Africa, and Southwest Asia participate, it also provides a global stage for Korean companies in the AI and robotics ecosystem.

KOTRA operates the unified Korea Pavilion in partnership with the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, National IT Industry Promotion Agency, Korea Internet & Security Agency, and Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement. In addition, 100 leading Korean companies specializing in AI, robotics, software, and information and communications technology (ICT) equipment expanded their opportunities for entry into the market through business-to-business (B2B) meetings and networking with local firms. A separate Korea Robotics Pavilion was also operated to promote the globalization of the robotics industry, a core area of physical AI. Notably, government agencies such as Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Department of Economic Development (DED) participated in project consultations, increasing the prospects for Korean companies to engage in AI and digital transformation initiatives in the Middle East. Among these, 28 companies-including FuriosaAI, Vaintech, TITNG, Kisan Electronics, and Bitsem Electronics-are participating in the unified Korea Pavilion operated by KOTRA and the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund.

Kim Byungho, head of KOTRA’s Middle East Regional Headquarters, stated, “GITEX 2025 has become an opportunity to increase the participation of our innovative technology companies in Middle Eastern AI and digital transformation projects. We will provide full support so that Korean innovative companies can participate as key partners in advanced industries and projects in major Middle Eastern countries.”
