At approximately 7:23 a.m. on October 13, a report was received of a stabbing incident at an apartment in Minlak-dong, Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province.
The police and fire authorities found a couple in their 40s, identified as Mr. A and Ms. B, as well as an elementary school student, Ms. C, at the apartment and transported them to the hospital.
Among them, the wife, Ms. B, was reported to be in critical condition due to severe blood loss.
The police discovered the suspect, a man identified as Mr. D, who lived on the floor below the victims in the same apartment building, dead in his own residence.
A police official stated, "We have not yet been able to question the victims, so we are still investigating the circumstances of the incident," adding, "It does not appear to be a crime with abnormal motives or a random attack, and it has been determined that the incident occurred in the elevator."
