K-Beauty leader Jayjun Cosmetic is transforming into "CHA AI Healthcare," accelerating its expansion into the artificial intelligence (AI) healthcare business.
On October 13, Jayjun Cosmetic announced that it had disclosed the agenda for an extraordinary general meeting held on October 10. At the upcoming meeting scheduled for October 27, the company plans to change its name and expand its main business areas to include AI medical solutions and global healthcare.
This decision is considered a strategic turning point, marking the company's move beyond K-Beauty to become a new leader in the healthcare industry.
Previously, on October 1, Jayjun Cosmetic was acquired by Chacares, a subsidiary of CHA Biotech, officially launching its entry into the AI healthcare sector.
As a result, key figures such as Song Jongguk, CEO of Chacares, and Yoon Kyunguk, CEO of CHA Healthcare, have been confirmed as new board member candidates for "CHA AI Healthcare." This is expected to further strengthen the group's efforts to build an integrated platform and diversify its business.
Founded in 2000, Chacares provides comprehensive solutions across the healthcare sector, including medical facility management, family care, hospital customer center construction and operation, and IT, mobile, and digital platforms.
Notably, the company has been consecutively selected for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's medical AI project and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute's national research and development (R&D) initiatives. In addition, it is developing medical AI technology based on multi-institutional and multimodal federated learning and is participating as a joint research institution in the "2025 2nd Korean ARPA-H (Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health) Project." These efforts are expected to strengthen global biohealth competitiveness. In line with this, the government is actively pursuing national strategic R&D for health prediction and proactive care, aiming to become one of the world's top three AI powerhouses and realize an innovation-driven economy this year.
Jayjun Cosmetic plans to combine its existing K-Beauty brand strengths with AI healthcare technology to diversify healthcare-related channels and revenue models within the group, such as CHAUM's Power Aging Wellness Center and anti-aging and aesthetics businesses. Through this, the company aims to establish itself as a total life care platform, covering everything from preventive medicine to personalized health management throughout the life cycle.
A Jayjun Cosmetic representative stated, "This change of company name and expansion of business objectives is an important milestone, signaling Jayjun Cosmetic's full transition from a beauty company to a fusion enterprise integrating medical and healthcare. Going forward, as 'CHA AI Healthcare,' we will establish a unique position in the global healthcare industry through the convergence of AI technology and K-Beauty."
