Boundaries Finalized for 275 Parcels
Positive Resident Response to Drone-Assisted Explanations
Gijang County (County Governor Jeong Jongbok) announced on October 10 that it has finalized the land boundaries for the Jukseong 2 District cadastral resurvey project area and completed the creation of new cadastral records (land register and cadastral map).
The project area covers 275 parcels in the Jukseong-ri area of Gijang-eup, with a total area of 60,285.3 square meters. Following the preparation of the cadastral records on September 25, the county completed the registration request process. For lands where the area has increased or decreased, the county plans to conduct an appraisal and review by the Cadastral Resurvey Committee, after which compensation will be paid to, or collected from, landowners as appropriate.
Until now, Jukseong 2 District was classified as a non-conforming area, where the cadastral map did not match the actual land conditions, resulting in a high potential for disputes and significant restrictions on landowners' property rights. With the completion of this cadastral resurvey project, precise boundaries that reflect the actual conditions have been established, which is expected to resolve boundary disputes and improve the efficiency of land use.
Gijang County has received positive feedback from residents by implementing a field-oriented communication administration using drone footage. Public officials in charge visited landowners directly to explain the survey results and boundary changes, actively gathering feedback and providing tailored administrative services.
Jeong Jongbok, Governor of Gijang County, said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to all county residents who actively cooperated in the implementation of this project," adding, "We will continue to expand the cadastral resurvey project to minimize land boundary disputes and protect the property rights of our residents."
Since starting with the Ilgwang Icheon District in 2013, Gijang County has completed cadastral resurvey projects for a total of 12 districts (2,721 parcels, 659,932.4 square meters). Currently, projects are underway for Jukseong 3 District and Wolnae 1 District in Jangan-eup.
