One Additional Charter Bus Each for Routes 4108 and 4403
Congestion Expected to Ease Following Standing Passenger Ban
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on October 10 that it will deploy charter buses on certain metropolitan bus routes to Seoul, where commuting congestion has worsened due to the ban on standing passengers on metropolitan buses.

This measure is intended to alleviate inconvenience for citizens following the revision of the Enforcement Decree of the Road Traffic Act on December 20 last year, which prohibited standing passengers on metropolitan buses.
According to the city, on metropolitan bus routes M4108, 4108, M4403, and 4403, which operate from Dongtan 1 New Town to major areas in Seoul, all seats are often filled at upstream stops, resulting in repeated cases where citizens waiting at downstream stops are unable to board.
In response, after discussions with the Metropolitan Transportation Committee, the city has decided to add one charter bus each to route 4108 bound for Seoul Station and route 4403 bound for Gangnam Station, starting from October 13.
The charter buses will operate during the morning rush hour, departing from the Metapolis (Central) stop as part of a mid-route dispatch system.
Jung Myunggeun, Mayor of Hwaseong, stated, "We will continue to do our utmost to establish practical transportation measures so that citizens can use public transportation more comfortably and smoothly."
