Safe Yeongdeok... Yeongdeok County Operates Integrated Situation Room During Chuseok Holiday

Focused Management of Major Tourist Sites and Transportation Facilities

Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province established a comprehensive plan and operated an integrated situation room to ensure the safety and convenience of residents and returning visitors during the long Chuseok holiday.

The special countermeasure period set by Yeongdeok County lasted from the 3rd to the 9th. During this period, the county operated an integrated situation room covering nine areas: the General Situation Team, Civil Complaints Team, Price Control Situation Team, Environmental Management Team, Livestock Quarantine Situation Team, Disaster and Accident Management Team, Special Transportation Countermeasures Team, Emergency Medical Countermeasures Team, and Water Supply Countermeasures Team.

The Special Transportation Countermeasures Team inspected intercity and city bus terminals and taxi stands in the county to ensure transportation convenience for returning visitors and tourists. The team also provided guidance on the use of detour roads and worked to minimize traffic congestion.

Additionally, the Environmental Management Team ensured there were no gaps in household waste collection during the holiday, while the Water Supply Countermeasures Team promptly handled complaints related to the water supply, contributing to the stable daily life of residents.

Furthermore, to address potential gaps in emergency medical services, the county maintained an emergency medical system at the public health center and designated and operated six on-call medical institutions, including Yeongdeok Asan Hospital, as well as 17 pharmacies, so that residents and returning visitors would not experience inconvenience.

Notably, the mobile civil complaint response team, "Mobilize! Deogi Captain," which operated during the holiday, received high praise from residents by responding immediately to reports of road damage, waste, and water supply issues and resolving them quickly on-site.

During the holiday period, there were a few incidents such as fires, traffic accidents, and missing persons across Yeongdeok County, but thanks to systematic planning and swift initial response, all incidents remained minor.

County Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "All departments are working together to ensure that this Chuseok, the first since the wildfire recovery, is spent safely and warmly," and added, "We will continue to minimize inconvenience for residents and further strengthen disaster prevention systems to always make Yeongdeok a safe place."
