New Users Up 170% This Year
Revenue Grows 223% Year-on-Year
Plans to Expand to Spanish, Chinese, and More
Edtech startup Teida announced on October 10 that its language learning application, Teida, has surpassed 5 million cumulative downloads.
Unlike other language learning apps, Teida features an interactive simulation method that allows users to engage in real conversations with native speakers on the screen, enabling language learning, pronunciation practice, and real-life conversation training.
Teida is especially standing out in overseas markets. In English-speaking countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom, it ranked first in the Korean learning app category and seventh in the Japanese learning category on app stores, with a rating of 4.9 out of 5.0. This year, the number of new users has increased by more than 170% compared to the previous year, and revenue has also grown by 223%.
Based on its achievements in Korean and Japanese, Teida plans to expand into a multilingual conversation learning service by adding various language courses, including Spanish and Chinese.
Jang Jiwoong, CEO of Teida, stated, "Teida is not just a language learning tool, but an experience-oriented platform that helps users confidently communicate in foreign languages in real-life situations." He added, "By providing high-quality communication experiences, we aim to address inequality in language education and offer new opportunities in life to more people."
