It has been confirmed that, out of the 647 administrative information systems paralyzed by the fire at the Daejeon headquarters of the National Information Resources Service (NIRS), 167 systems have been restored, including 22 core first-grade systems.

According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, as of 6 p.m. on October 8, 2025, the thirteenth day since the government information system disruption caused by the NIRS fire, the restoration rate stands at 25.8%.

On the previous night, the internal work portal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was restored, and on this day, the Korea Customs Service's work support program, the National Data Policy Office's Jipyounuri (partial restoration), and the Office for Government Policy Coordination's Korea ODA Integrated Portal were also brought back online.

The government has been mobilizing all available personnel and equipment to carry out restoration efforts after 647 government information systems were halted due to the fire at the NIRS Daejeon headquarters on September 26, 2025.

The Daejeon headquarters consists of nine computer rooms from the second to the fifth floor. The fifth floor, where the fire broke out, houses the 7, 7-1, and 8 computer rooms. Of the total systems, more than half-330 systems (51%)-are concentrated in these rooms: 200 in Room 7, 96 in Room 7-1 where the fire occurred, and 34 in Room 8.

The government is working to restore the 96 systems in the completely destroyed Room 7-1 by transferring them to a "public-private partnership cloud" at the Daegu Center.

On this day, Minister of the Interior and Safety, Yun Ho-jung, visited the NIRS Daejeon headquarters and stated, "The dust removal work in Room 8 has been completed, so once the power supply facilities are operational, we should be able to speed up the restoration process." He also explained, "Restoration is progressing slowly because many of the systems in Rooms 7 and 7-1 are linked and operated together with those in Rooms 5 and 6 on the fourth floor."
