[PollPollNews] President Lee's Approval Rating at 53.5%... Democratic Party 47.2%, People Power Party 35.9%

Realmeter Public Opinion Poll

On October 6, a public opinion poll showed that President Lee Jae-myung's approval rating for his handling of state affairs rebounded to 53.5% after four weeks.

According to a survey conducted by Realmeter at the request of Energy Economy News from September 29 to October 2, 2025, among 2,017 eligible voters aged 18 and older nationwide, 53.5% of respondents evaluated President Lee's job performance positively.

This figure represents a 1.5 percentage point increase from the previous week. After recording 56.0% in the first week of September (September 1-5), the approval rating had declined for three consecutive weeks before rebounding.

The percentage of respondents who evaluated President Lee's job performance negatively was 43.3%, down 0.8 percentage points from the previous week.

In a separate party support survey conducted on October 1-2 among 1,008 eligible voters aged 18 and older nationwide, the Democratic Party of Korea received 47.2% support, while the People Power Party received 35.9%.

Support for the Democratic Party of Korea rose by 3.9 percentage points compared to the previous week, while support for the People Power Party fell by 2.4 percentage points.

The gap in support between the two parties widened from 5.0 percentage points last week to 11.3 percentage points, moving outside the margin of error for the first time in three weeks.

The Cho Kuk Innovation Party received 3.3% support, the Reform Party received 2.8%, and the Progressive Party received 1.0%.

Both surveys were conducted using an automated wireless response system.

The margin of error for the presidential approval rating survey is ±2.2 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, and for the party support survey, it is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.

The response rate for the presidential approval rating survey was 4.9%, and the response rate for the party support survey was 4.1%.
