Chuncheon City Successfully Concludes Residents' Autonomy Excellent Program Competition

300 Participants from 20 Residents' Autonomy Centers
Six Teams Honored, Including Seoksa-dong Team Winning Grand Prize

The Chuncheon City Residents' Autonomy Council in Gangwon Province, led by Chairman Eom Sangpil, successfully held the "2025 Residents' Autonomy Excellent Program Competition" on October 2.

This competition brought together around 300 participants from 20 residents' autonomy centers in Chuncheon, who showcased their skills and passion in a variety of fields, including dance, gymnastics, Korean folk songs, and Nanta drumming.

After a heated competition, the grand prize went to Seoksa-dong. The gold prize was awarded to Seomyeon, the silver prize to Dongnae-myeon, the bronze prize to Gangnam-dong, the encouragement award to Hyoja 2-dong, and the popularity award to Yaksamyeong-dong.

The Seoksa-dong team, which won the grand prize, will go on to represent Chuncheon at the upcoming Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Residents' Autonomy Center Excellent Club Competition.

The event also featured a special performance by the Seoksa Happy Neighborhood Nanta Team, last year's grand prize winner, as well as a stage by invited singer Dohwa, both of which received enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Eom Sangpil, Chairman of the Residents' Autonomy Council, stated, "This is not just a competition, but a festival stage where we respect each other's talents and reaffirm the strength of our local community," adding, "We will continue to work to vitalize residents' autonomy programs in the future."

Yook Donghan, Mayor of Chuncheon, remarked, "Your passion brings great vitality to our lives and breathes new life into our community," and pledged, "I will stand by your side and open up more opportunities for participation."
