This special lecture was organized as a result of Goyang Special City's partnership with Toss, a leading domestic financial company, to provide practical financial and economic education opportunities for young people.
The city planned this initiative to establish a public-private cooperation model for strengthening youth financial capabilities and to provide students with essential financial knowledge for their daily lives.
The first lecture was held for first-year students at Ilsan International Convention High School and focused on key topics necessary for young adults entering society, including: ▲prevention and response to financial fraud ▲developing rational spending habits and budget management ▲basic financial concepts such as savings, interest rates, and inflation ▲understanding the digital financial environment and utilizing the latest financial services.
Starting with this lecture, the city plans to offer additional customized financial lectures for third-year students at six high schools, including Hwajeong High School and Goyangil High School, after this year's college entrance exam.
One student who attended shared, "It was very beneficial to learn financial knowledge that is useful in everyday life, and it gave me confidence as I prepare to enter society."
A Goyang Special City official stated, "We will expand practical financial education so that young people can protect themselves from risks such as financial fraud, and we aim to create a sustainable educational model through collaboration with financial companies."
Going forward, the city plans to further expand financial education programs for young people in close cooperation with Toss, ensuring that students are equipped with practical economic knowledge and financial life skills before they enter society.
