Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute in North Gyeongsang Province (President: Moon Chu-Yeon) has designated special safety zones within the Gumi National Industrial Complex and will actively supply smart safety solutions to companies in the complex through the "Industrial Complex Special Safety Zone Smart Safety Solution Implementation Project" supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

This project began as a pilot initiative in six local governments in 2023. This year, it is being expanded to ten local governments, including Gumi City, and over the next three years, smart safety solutions will be gradually implemented and distributed to companies within the complexes.

Currently, special safety zones (Safety Zones) have been designated in Complexes 1 through 4 of the Gumi National Industrial Complex. These zones are systematically managed to strengthen the safety of workers and companies in areas with a high risk of major accidents due to the handling and storage of hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as the concentration of aging factories.

In particular, companies located within the special safety zones of the Gumi National Industrial Complex will be provided with electrical fire and fire detection safety solutions.

The electrical fire safety solution is based on artificial intelligence (AI), analyzing sensor data such as voltage, current, and frequency to detect early signs of fire and cut off power before a fire occurs.

The fire detection safety solution uses AI to analyze a variety of sensor data, significantly improving the accuracy of fire detection. The data collected through this system is transmitted to the Smart Green Industrial Complex Integrated Control Center in Gumi City and to the special safety zone integrated monitoring system within the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation IDC Center for management.

Currently, a public notice is underway to recruit beneficiary companies for the distribution of smart safety solutions in the Gumi National Industrial Complex. Detailed information can be found on the project announcement board of the Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute website.

Moon Chu-Yeon, President of Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute, stated, "I am pleased that our efforts, such as conducting industrial safety demand surveys for Gumi citizens through the Smart Green Industrial Complex Integrated Control Center and running digital pilot services with local companies, have borne fruit by raising safety awareness among Gumi citizens and helping companies secure public safety technologies. We will continue to actively support the development of industrial safety-related technologies for local companies to drive increased sales and job creation."
