Check Availability via Map and Navigation Apps
Opening Hours Vary... Confirm in Advance
As the Chuseok holiday passes its midpoint, public parking lots operated by schools and public institutions across the country will be open free of charge until October 9.
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on October 7, public parking lots operated by public institutions, administrative agencies, and schools have been available for free use from October 3 to October 9. This applies to approximately 12,000 locations nationwide.
To find a free parking lot, you can search on any of the five major navigation apps: Naver Map, KakaoMap, T Map, iNavi Air, and Hyundai Car Navigation.
By searching keywords such as "Chuseok free parking lot," "holiday free parking lot," "holiday free open parking lot," "free open parking lot," or "free public parking lot," users can locate parking lots near their current location or destination and receive directions.
However, you should note that the opening dates, operating hours, and nighttime access vary for each parking lot.
Additionally, even for public parking lots, certain locations may be excluded, such as small-sized lots in areas where parking congestion is expected, so it is recommended to check in advance before visiting.
Since 2021, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety has been collecting parking lot opening information from public institutions and schools every holiday and releasing it to the public, helping people enjoy a comfortable and safe holiday period.
