778 Applicants for 203 Positions

The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on October 2 that, for the 2026 academic year recruitment of public kindergarten, elementary school, and special school (kindergarten and elementary) teachers, 778 applicants applied for 203 positions, resulting in an average competition rate of 3.8 to 1.

Compared to the previous year, when 792 applicants competed for 225 positions (a competition rate of 3.5 to 1), the number of applicants remained similar, but the number of available positions decreased, leading to a slightly higher competition rate. By category, the competition was highest for kindergarten teachers, with 390 applicants for 54 positions, resulting in a rate of 7.2 to 1. For elementary school teachers, 266 applicants competed for 106 positions, resulting in a rate of 2.5 to 1.

The first round of exams will be held on November 8, and details such as test locations will be announced on the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education website on October 31. Successful candidates for the first round will be announced on December 10. The second round of exams will take place from January 7 to 9 next year, with the final successful candidates to be announced on January 28.
