This project was carried out as the operational lifespan of old diesel buses expired. A subsidy of 90 million won per bus was provided, including national and provincial funds, with the total project cost amounting to 720 million won.

With the addition of these eight buses, following the initial introduction of four buses last year, a total of 12 out of the 24 city buses operated by Yeongam Hwaseong Express have now been converted to electric low-floor buses.

A Taebaek City official stated, "We would like to thank Yeongam Hwaseong Express for their active cooperation in providing safe and comfortable public transportation services to both citizens and visitors to Taebaek," adding, "We will continue to pursue various projects to enhance transportation convenience in the future."

Meanwhile, the city plans to introduce one more electric low-floor bus next year to further improve transportation convenience for citizens and steadily transition to an eco-friendly transportation system.
