Dong-Eui Science University saw a significant increase in competition for the first round of early admissions for the 2026 academic year compared to last year.
According to Dong-Eui Science University on October 1, 7,641 applicants competed for 1,080 spots within the regular quota, resulting in an average competition ratio of 7.08 to 1. This figure marks a substantial rise from last year's 5.93 to 1. Including the 1,217 applicants for the special quota, the total number of applicants reached 8,858.
By department, the Nursing Department recorded the highest competition ratio, with 97 applicants vying for a single spot under the university's own criteria (97 to 1). The Specialized High School Track for the Department of Physical Therapy followed at 74 to 1, and the Specialized High School Track for the Department of Semiconductor and Electronic Industry posted a ratio of 64 to 1.
Kim Inju, Director of Admissions and Public Relations at Dong-Eui Science University, stated, "This outcome reflects trust in our high job placement rate, specialized vocational education, and future-oriented educational environment," adding, "We will do our utmost to nurture customized talent needed by the local community and industry."
