Chosun University announced on October 1 that the Gwangju Chungjang Precious Metals Specialized Support Center (hereafter referred to as the Center), operated by the university's Industry-University Cooperation Foundation, participated in the "Jewellery & Gem WORLD HONG KONG 2025" held from the 17th to the 21st of last month. This participation was carried out as part of the Local Small Business Promotion Project, organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Enterprise and Market Service.

This year's exhibition featured 3,223 companies from 42 countries around the world. The Center introduced the Gwangju joint brand "BICHEATTI," laying the groundwork for the global expansion of the local jewelry industry.

"BICHEATTI" is a Gwangju joint brand established by ten companies in the region, and its name signifies an atelier where the "light" of Gwangju, the "light" of jewelry workshops, and the "light" of gemstones come together.

The participating companies showcased their signature products and technological capabilities at the Korea Jewelry Integrated Promotion Pavilion. They held consultations with buyers from various countries, including China, Japan, India, Dubai, and Thailand, attracting significant interest and confirming the potential for future exports.

On the 18th, the Dong-gu District of Gwangju, the Gwangju Chungjang Precious Metals Specialized Support Center, and the Gwangju Precious Metals and Gemstone Technology Association (a non-profit organization) discussed ways to cooperate and strengthen exchanges with the Hong Kong Jewellery and Jade Manufacturers Association (HKJJA), a leading jewelry association in Hong Kong with which they have signed a business agreement.

Moon Byungkwon, Director of the Gwangju Chungjang Precious Metals Specialized Support Center, stated, "This exhibition was more than just a product promotion opportunity; it served as a concrete stepping stone for local small businesses to enter overseas markets. We will continue to actively support local small businesses so that they can secure greater competitiveness in the global marketplace."
