Photo Spots and Experience Spaces Abound for Easy Enjoyment in the Heart of the City
Daejeon City has introduced five parks and walkways that are turning crimson with red spider lilies in celebration of Chuseok, the nation's largest traditional holiday.
Donggu Gao Neighborhood Park (132 Daeseong-dong) is a popular destination for family outings. Along the walkway lined with red spider lilies, visitors will find pavilions, benches, and playgrounds. Recent renovations have created an eco-friendly trail and a 157-meter barefoot path. The park also features a forest experience center for children, an insect hotel, and an ecological learning space, making it an ideal spot to visit with kids.
Moodong Healing Forest at the foot of Bomunsan in Junggu (195 Musu-dong) offers a tranquil healing space where the serenity of the forest blends with the beauty of red spider lilies. Visitors can choose from various courses, including the Modu Forest Trail (1.5 km), the Exercise Healing Trail (2.7 km), and the Waterway Walkway (1.5 km). Programs led by forest healing instructors are also available, allowing guests to experience the restorative effects of nature.
Seogu Wolpyeong Area Walkway (1518 Wolpyeong-dong) is a 1.7-kilometer loess trail built along the outskirts of apartment complexes, where visitors can walk barefoot. The red spider lilies interwoven with the evergreen forest color the path, and pavilions, rest areas, and night lighting make it a pleasant route to enjoy both day and night.
Yuseong-gu Haerang Forest Neighborhood Park (1067 Jijok-dong) is an urban photo spot connected to the Maebongsan Walkway, offering distinct seasonal scenery. Its proximity to apartment complexes ensures easy access, making it a popular place for holiday visitors and returning residents to take photos against a backdrop of flowers.
Daedeok-gu Daecheong Park (57-1 Miho-dong) boasts a spectacular view of red spider lilies in full bloom along the Daecheong Lake waterfront. The park features a lawn plaza, a rock botanical garden, and an accessible sharing trail. It is also linked to the Daecheong Cultural Exhibition Hall and the Wood Culture Experience Center, resulting in high satisfaction among family visitors.
In addition to these locations, the charm of red spider lilies can be found throughout Daejeon. In preparation for the holiday, the city has completed maintenance and safety inspections at major attractions to ensure that citizens and tourists can enjoy them with peace of mind.
