Kakao Pay Maintains Basic In-Store Payment Benefits
On October 1, Kakao Pay announced the launch of the "Oh! Oh! Benefits" program in partnership with convenience store chain CU, offering a basic benefit of 10% and up to 50% in rewards.
Customers who link their CU membership to Kakao Pay and make payments with Kakao Pay Money at any CU store nationwide will receive an immediate 5% discount at checkout. Additionally, they can earn an extra 5% in Kakao Pay Points.
The on-site discount can be used once per day, up to a maximum of 5,000 won per transaction (excluding alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
To celebrate the partnership, CU will provide discount coupons based on the number of times customers pay with Kakao Pay Money.
This month, customers who make 3, 5, 7, or 10 payments will receive, respectively, a 500-won discount coupon, a 50% discount coupon for Yonsei Milk Fresh Cream Bread, a 2,500-won discount coupon, and a 50% discount coupon for CU lunch boxes.
Basic Kakao Pay benefits are also available. When spending 1,000 won or more at offline stores with Kakao Pay Money, customers can earn Kakao Pay Points up to three times: standard points, random bonus points, and additional bonus points for specific payment milestones.
Credit and debit card payments made using Kakao Pay's Samsung Pay feature can earn points up to two times. The earning limit is 30 transactions per month, up to 30,000 points.
First-time users who pay with Kakao Pay will also receive an instant discount coupon worth up to 2,000 won, valid at all stores.
A Kakao Pay representative stated, "By joining forces with CU, we aim to deliver more practical benefits to a wider audience," adding, "We will continue to offer a convenient and highly rewarding payment experience unique to Kakao Pay."
