[Breaking] Gyeonggi Bus Labor-Management Agreement Reached... Planned Strike Withdrawn

The Gyeonggi Bus Labor Union Council, which represents about 90% of all bus workers in Gyeonggi Province, reached an agreement with management during the final mediation meeting on October 1 and withdrew the strike that had been scheduled to begin that day.

The union council held a 14-hour final mediation meeting with the Gyeonggi Bus Transportation Business Association, the employers' organization, at the Gyeonggi Regional Labor Relations Commission from 4 p.m. the previous day until 6 a.m. on October 1, and agreed on the wage agreement proposal.

As a result, the union council decided to withdraw the planned full-scale strike, which was set to begin with the first bus service of the day, and will operate all routes as normal.
